Commissioned by the Training Center of Chinese Academy of Governance, Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI) received the public administration seminar for civil servants from 7 Asian countries on June 13, 2014. The 19 participants in the seminar were civil servants from the Presidents’ offices, Prime Ministers’ offices, Ministries of Finance, Interior Affairs and other government agencies of 7 Asian countries, namely, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka and Yemen.  

Mr. ZENG Jun, Education Dean of SAI, accompanied by the head of foreign affairs office, met the participants and briefed them about the basic information of SAI that morning. 

Mr. RONG Zhi, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration of SAI, gave a lecture on Shanghais practice and experience in public administration and service, and exchanged views with the participants on civil servants recruitment, management and training, e-government affairs, urban planning, population control, taxation system, trade monopoly, women’s issues, and so forth. 

Minhas·Imran Yaqoob, head of the seminar and Lieutenant of Internal Affairs of the Police Department of Balochistan, Pakistan, said that the visit to SAI was part of the program of public administration seminar for Asian civil servants. The lecure offered excellent learning opportunities for civil servants from various Asian countries with different backgrounds. Participants would have inspirations and lessons from the study, survey, analysis and assessment of Chinas political structure in Beijing, Shanghai and other places. After returning to their countries, with Chinas practice as reference, they may advance rational proposals for government decision-makings and bring positive changes to the political systems of their countries.
