On October 27, German Pinazo, Vice President of Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (UNGS), Argentina, visited the SPI/SAI. Vice President TU Ye presided over the meeting, with responsible officials from the Academy of ShanghaiDevelopment & Reform and the Foreign Affairs Office in attendance.

Mr. TU welcomed Mr. Pinazo and gave a brief introduction about the SPI/SAIin terms of functional positioning and team building, along with the history of cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in recent years. He noted that the SPI/SAI serves as the main channel for training the Party’sleading officials in Shanghai, an important base for the Party’s ideological and theoretical construction, a research institution and key think-tank for philosophy and social sciences of the CPC and the state. He hoped that both sides would explore more forms of cooperation in areas such as teaching, research, advisory work, and talent cultivation, for the purpose of further strengthening exchanges and mutual learning.
Mr. Pinazo expressed gratitude for the warm reception. It was his first visit to Shanghai and was quite rewarding as he gained a firsthand understanding of the SPI/SAI’s development and got to feelthe charm of the city. The SPI/SAI’s mature practices and experiences in teaching, research, and advisory work hold significant reference value for UNGS. He expressed willingness to further deepen cooperation between the two sides and promote the sharing and dissemination of relevant practical experiences from China and Shanghai in Argentina.
The two sides engaged in exchanges on topics such as political economy, social security, and state-owned enterprise reform.
Mr. Pinazo also visited facilities including the SPI/SAI’s teaching buildings and school history museum.
