On August 18, WANG Yongjie, Vice President of the Shanghai Party Institute of CPC & Shanghai Administration Institute (SPI/SAI), led a delegation to visit Academy of Politics Region II (APR II) in Vietnam. The two sides jointly held an international academic seminar on the topic of “State-Owned Asset (SOA) and State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Reform.”
Nguyen Quoc Dung, President of APR II,warmly welcomed the SPI/SAI delegation. He reviewed the glorious 75-year history since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and emphasized the critical role ofSOA and SOE reform in the development of both nations. He pointed out that SOEs served as key pillars of the national economy and crucial forces driving economic and social development.
WANG Yongjie expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from the APR II and fully acknowledged the fruitful achievements of the long-standing cooperation between the two sides. He introduced the present situation and key reform tasks of Shanghai’s SOAs and SOEs as well as their underlying challenges. He stated that currently,the city’s SOA and SOEreform had put high on the agenda enhancing the contribution of the state-owned sector, refining its layout and structure, deepening reforms of its institutions and mechanisms, strengthening the effectiveness of SOA regulation, and making sustained efforts to fortify CPC building within SOEs.
During the seminar, Pham Bi Thanh, Vice President of APR II, summarized the long-term friendly cooperation between the two sides over the years in areas such as exchanging delegations and jointly hosting international seminars.
Witnessed by the attending representatives, WANG Yongjie and Nguyen Quoc Dung signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective institutes, ushering in a new stage in the cooperative relationship between the two sides.
