On May 14, ZENG Jun, Executive Vice President of SPI met with the delegation led by Busani Ngcaweni, President of the National School of Government of South Africa. LI Bo, Vice President of SPI, TANG Juelan, Director of Department of Economics and Management, and relevant personnel from the Foreign Affairs Office Division attended the meeting.
ZENG Jun welcomed the visit of Ngcaweni and his delegation. He introduced the basic situation of SPI, reviewed the cooperation consensus reached between SPI and the National School of Government of South Africa in August last year, and thanked the president for actively promoting the implementation of bilateral cooperation. ZENG Jun said that the close exchanges between the two schools are a microcosm of the comprehensive strategic partnership of China and South Africa. In the future, SPI will rely on its system resources to strengthen the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides through high-level mutual visits, official training, co-organized meetings, cooperative scientific research, etc., and make due contributions to deepening the friendship between the two countries as comrades and brothers.
Ngcaweni introduced the basic situation of the National School of Government of South Africa, fully affirmed the achievements of the Communist Party of China in its governance, and highly evaluated the role of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in accelerating the development of the global South. He looked forward to deepening cooperation between the two schools, promoting academic seminars and official training, and strengthening experience exchanges in civil servant capacity building and governance.
After the meeting, the president and his delegation discussed and exchanged views with teachers from the Department of Economics and Management on the key driving forces of China’s economy and how to promote economic development through new reforms. The two sides had in-depth discussions on relevant topics such as the construction of high-tech industrial development zones, manufacturing transformation, and reform of state-owned enterprises.
